Tickets to access the Godswill Akpabio Stadium for Friday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying cracker between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and South Africa’s Bafana Bafana will go on sale from Thursday morning, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed. This much-anticipated match is expected to draw a large crowd, eager to witness the fierce competition between two of Africa's top football teams. With both teams vying for a spot in the prestigious tournament, the excitement is palpable.
The NFF has revealed that the tickets for the popular stands will be sold for N1,000 each, while tickets to the VIP areas will be available for N3,000 each. This pricing strategy aims to make the game accessible to a wide range of fans, from the general public to those seeking a more premium viewing experience. By providing affordable options, the NFF hopes to fill the stadium and create an electrifying atmosphere that will spur the Super Eagles to victory.
Mr. Alizor Chuks, NFF’s Head of Marketing and Sponsorship, confirmed that tickets will go on sale at a number of designated points. These include Comfort FM Radio Station (Ikot Akpanabia), Inspiration FM Radio Station (Udo Udoma Street), Memories FM Radio Station (Ernest Bassey Street), De-Choice Shopping Mall, as well as a number of fuel stations and eateries that will be announced later in the day. The selection of these locations is strategic, aimed at reaching a broad audience across different parts of the city.
The objective is to have as many sales points as possible away from the stadium, ensuring that fans can purchase their tickets conveniently without having to travel long distances. This approach also helps to avoid congestion and long queues at the stadium, making the ticket-buying process smoother and more efficient. The NFF is committed to providing an organized and hassle-free experience for all fans planning to attend the game.
In addition to the convenience of multiple sales points, the NFF has also ensured that ticket sales will be concluded by Friday evening before the game commences. This allows fans ample time to secure their tickets and make arrangements to attend the match. By closing sales ahead of the game, the NFF can better manage crowd control and security at the stadium, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Friday’s potentially-explosive game will kick off at 8pm, under the floodlights of the Godswill Akpabio Stadium. The evening kickoff is expected to draw even more fans, as it allows people to attend after work or school. The night game will also add to the thrilling atmosphere, with the lights and packed stands creating an unforgettable backdrop for this crucial World Cup qualifier.
As the Super Eagles prepare to face the Bafana Bafana, the entire nation is rallying behind them. Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets early to avoid disappointment, as a sell-out crowd is anticipated. The NFF's efforts in organizing ticket sales and preparing for the match highlight their dedication to promoting football in Nigeria and supporting the national team in their quest for World Cup glory.
