History was made by Coach Musa Garba Bombers' tutored Mighty Jets International Feeders FC as they reached another milestone by qualifying for the next round of the FA Cup, now known as the President Federation Cup.
For more than two decades, Mighty Jets International FC had never crossed the first hurdle at the national level, despite consistently representing the state at the national level year after year.
Mighty Jets Feeders broke that jinx at the Area 3 playground in Abuja when they defeated high-flying Imperial FC 5-4 on penalties after a 0-0 draw in regulation time, qualifying for the round of 32, where they will face NPFL side Akwa United.
It should be recalled that this same Coach Bombers' tutored side reached the FA Cup State final for the first time since the creation of the Jets Feeders team 12 years ago, losing 2-0 to the State FA Cup defending champions and 1999 National Champions, Plateau United FC.
Mighty Jets International Feeders team defeated NLO Division One side Ben Akwuegbu FC 4-1 at the State level quarter-final, beat N-Youth League Cup table-toppers Plateau United Youth Team 4-2 on penalties in the semi-final, before losing 2-0 to Plateau United in the final.
The Mighty Jets International Feeders team goalkeeper showcased his expertise once again when it comes to saving penalty kicks, as he stopped one of Imperial FC's penalties, before the team striker, Dominic Emmanuel, converted the winning kick to achieve a long-time target.
