It was another impressive outing for Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at the Lafia City Stadium in Lafia, Nasarawa State, as the Benin Arsenals brushed aside Adamawa United 3-0 in the Round of 32 match of the 2025 President Federation Cup to advance to the Round of 16.
Kayode Oke Solomon turned out to be the only potent weapon Insurance FC needed in their attack as he scored a hat-trick to help the Benin Arsenals triumph over the Adamawa side.
The Benin Arsenals' forward Kayode Oke opened the scoring for the 2023 champions in the 25th minute and doubled the lead in the 38th minute to go into halftime with confidence.
The energetic forward remained hungry for more goals, and his effort was crowned with a third goal in the 87th minute to seal victory for Insurance FC and also earn his first hat-trick for his new club.
Recall that Bendel Insurance FC also thrashed NLO side Dandidi Babes FC of Jigawa State 5-0 in the Round of 64 game at the same Lafia City Stadium in Nasarawa State last month.
Skipper Meyiwa Oritseweyinmi's brace, along with Uche Collins' opening goal, Michael Enaruna’s, and Chinedu Onyejekwe’s goals, gave the Benin Arsenals the victory over the NLO team in Lafia.
The 2023 Federation Cup champions Bendel Insurance FC will return to Benin to begin preparations for the NPFL Match Day 32 against Rangers International of Enugu in a revised fixture on Saturday, April 5, 2025, as they await their next opponents in the Federation Cup Round of 16.
In a post-match interview, Coach Greg Ikhenoba said he was impressed by Kayode Oke and the team's performance. While congratulating the striker on his first hat-trick for Insurance FC, Coach Greg Ikhenoba noted that Kayode Oke is developing into the super striker he wants him to be.
He, however, admitted that his team is still a work in progress despite the overwhelming victories they have recorded so far in the 2025 Federation Cup.
