Ahead of their first league match of the 2025 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), Rivers Angels Head Coach, Tosan Bob Blankson, has vowed that his team will not take Ibom Angels lightly when they clash at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
In an interview, Blankson acknowledged Ibom Angels' coach, Edwin Okon, as a seasoned tactician, having previously coached Rivers Angels. "Edwin Okon is a good coach, and we won't underrate him or his team."
Blankson emphasized that his team will focus on their game plan, adhering to the rules of football. "We'll play according to the rules, and our pattern of play won't change."
Having watched Ibom Angels during the championship playoffs in Calabar, Blankson admitted that his opponent's squad may have undergone changes. "The championship is different from the league. They may have recruited new players."
Despite this, Blankson expressed confidence in his team's ability to secure a victory. "The first half of the match will give us a clearer picture, but we'll definitely come out on top."
The match between Rivers Angels and Ibom Angels kicks off at 4 p.m. at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
