2025 NWFL Match Day 4: Rivers United will now focus on Bayelsa Queens after derby victory, says coach

Tosan Blankson of Rivers Angels has assured that the team’s focus has now shifted to their Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Matchday 5 encounter against Bayelsa Queens after their victory over Delta Queens.  


The Jewels of Rivers continued their dominance over their South-South rivals, Delta Queens, with a hard-fought 2-1 victory in the NWFL Matchday 4 clash at the Stephen Keshi Stadium.  


Blankson praised his team's performance, saying, "I told you before the match that Delta Queens couldn't withstand us, and it played out that way."


Meanwhile, Captain Taiwo Afolabi, who previously played for Delta Queens, expressed her excitement at securing maximum points against her former team and confidently looked ahead to the next match against Bayelsa Queens.  


Rivers Angels will host Bayelsa Queens at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on February 12th in their Matchday 5 encounter.
