Group A table toppers and reigning champions of the 2023/24 NWFL season, Edo Queens Football Club of Benin, landed in Lagos on Monday for the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Match Day 4 fixtures, where they will take on Dannaz Ladies FC of Lagos State.
Edo Queens have played three matches, winning two and drawing one. Wednesday's clash in Lagos against Dannaz Ladies will be their second away game.
As football is all about scoring goals, the Ancient City-based ladies are determined to play the game of their lives to ensure they score as many goals as possible, secure the maximum three points, and maintain their position at the top.
As the pride of women’s football in Nigeria, the Moses Aduku-led girls said they were in high spirits for this encounter after being forced to a thrilling 1-1 draw at home by Remo Stars Ladies last week.
The technical crew, the captain, and all members of the Benin City-based side are confident and optimistic about securing an away victory in Lagos.
Edo Queens have a strong and fantastic team, and they are looking forward to a positive result.
Edo Queens currently top the table with 7 points from three games—one home win, one away win, and one home draw.
Kickoff for this all-important game is at 3 pm, and the venue is the popular Onikan Stadium in Lagos.
After the Lagos experience, Edo Queens will return home to host Nasarawa Amazons FC of Lafia in Match Day 5 of the NWFL Premiership.
Meanwhile, Edo State Sports Commission Chairman, Desmond Enabulele Amadin, has charged the Benin City girls to maintain the spirit of winning, adding that the Government of His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo is solidly behind them.
