2025 NWFL Match Day 3: Edo Queens set for another victory against high flying Remo Stars Ladies

The defending champions of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), Edo Queens Football Club of Benin, are set to face Remo Stars Ladies of Ikenne in the 2025 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Match Day 3.

The Ancient City-based ladies, who have started the new season on a positive note, will be looking forward to another sweet home victory as they welcome the young ladies from Ogun State to a titanic battle at the Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, the Edo State capital.

The match, which will be played under floodlights, will kick off at 6:00 PM local time.

This is the second home game for the reigning NWFL champions since the campaign for the 2024/25 NWFL season began three weeks ago.

Edo Queens have been in top form, having thrashed Abia Angels FC 5-0 at home and Heartland Queens 2-1 away. They are primed for an outright victory over the visitors in today’s thrilling encounter.

Ruthless Edo Queens are top contenders for the Super Six slot in Group A.

They have put up a scintillating performance, winning two straight matches. Edo Queens have six points from two matches. The unstoppable queens from Benin City are fully committed to defending their reputation by ensuring that everything is done to secure nothing but total victory in this third clash of the new season.

The two teams have faced each other in the NWFL Premiership and other engagements, with Edo Queens having the upper hand.

This crunch game will not be an exception, as Coach Moses Aduku and Captain Efe Osakpolor have already set their sights on winning for Edo Queens.

According to Coach Moses Aduku, "We are ready, we have no injury concerns, and the girls are in good shape and determined to deliver as usual."

Captain Efe Osakpolor maintained that Edo Queens remain unstoppable, emphasizing their readiness for the match.

Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has called on the people of Edo, particularly Benin residents, to support Edo Queens as they take on Remo Stars Ladies in this evening’s epic battle.

He said that a large crowd of supporters and fans can go a long way in helping Edo Queens in this crucial clash as the girls aim to maintain their lead in Group A.
