To mark their entry into the Nigeria Women Premier Football League (NWFL), the Ibom Angels family gathered at Mount Zion Lighthouse Full Gospel Church Inc., Ebenezer Diocese, Uyo, for a heartfelt thanksgiving service. They reflected on their journey and gave thanks to God for their successful promotion to the NWFL Premiership.
The team celebrated their unbeaten run in the NWFL Championship held in Calabar, which secured their place in the elite division.
They were honored as the “Team of the Tournament” by Soccer Queens, while Head Coach Edwin Okon was named Best Coach, and Ijeoma Onweagba earned the MVP title.
Club Secretary Elder John Udoh recounted the team’s blessings, crediting their success to prayers and the presence of Bishop Etim Effiong during the championship.
He emphasized the importance of committing the upcoming 2024/2025 NWFL Premiership season into God’s hands.
Coach Edwin Okon praised Bishop Effiong as a true servant of God and encouraged the congregation to trust in his prayers, which he said had worked wonders for the team.
Bishop Effiong commended the Ibom Angels for their gratitude and prophesied greater blessings for the team in their new division.
The event featured vibrant choir renditions, worship, praise, dancing, and the presentation of a gift to the church by the team.
The thanksgiving service marked a moment of reflection, gratitude, and hope as the Ibom Angels prepare for their next chapter in the NWFL Premiership.
