2025 All Stars Women Football competition set to kick off in Lagos

The Association of Nigeria Women Football Club Coaches (ANWFCC), organizers of Nigeria’s oldest women’s football competition, is set to host the 2025 edition of the All Stars Women’s Football Competition.  


The grassroots tournament, a platform for showcasing female football talent from across Nigeria and beyond, will run from January 6 to January 18, 2025, at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.  


Olajide Royal, Assistant Secretary and Public Relations Officer of the ANWFCC, said that the 2025 edition promises to surpass its predecessors in terms of quality.  


The competition has historically produced standout players for Nigeria’s Flamingoes, Falconets, and Super Falcons, with many excelling in clubs both at home and abroad.  


“This year’s edition will be even more superb compared to previous ones,” Royal stated, highlighting the association’s dedication to improving the event year after year.  


“To elevate the competition, scouts from across the globe, along with Nigeria Women’s Premier League coaches, will attend to identify and recruit emerging talents.  


“The competition aims to connect grassroots players with professional opportunities, fostering the growth of women’s football in Nigeria.  


“The 2025 tournament will utilize two pitches within the National Stadium complex: the Hockey Pitch and the Legacy Pitch. Key dates include:  


January 6, 2025: Registration, accreditation, and training sessions at the Hockey Pitch.  


January 8, 2025: Player seeding into teams.  


January 9, 2025: Matches commence at the Legacy Pitch.  


With Deutschland as the reigning champion of the 2024 edition, the 2025 All Stars tournament aspires to deliver a more dynamic competition.  


The ANWFCC remains committed to empowering female players to showcase their skills, discover their potential, and achieve football stardom.
