Bayelsa Queens started their campaign at the 7th edition of the Sheroes Cup with an impressive 2-1 victory over last year's Federation Cup runners-up, Naija Ratels.
The 2024 Sheroes Cup, which kicked off with glitz and glamour, also saw Remo Stars Ladies secure a narrow 1-0 win over Ekiti.

The decisive goal in the Remo Stars game was scored by Cynthia Mega in the 54th minute.
In another match, Bayelsa Queens surged to a two-goal lead thanks to quick strikes from Loveth Edeh and Precious Oscar within two minutes. Sofiat Bankole pulled one back for Naija Ratels with a well-taken free kick.
Games continue at the Goal Project Pitch, Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, with Heartland facing Dannas Ladies, Honey Badgers battling Abia Angels, and Naija Ratels returning to take on Nazareth Queens. The day's final game will feature Nasarawa Amazons clashing with Remo Ladies.
The official kick-off and opening ceremony were conducted by the FCT FA Chairman, Alhaji Adam Mohammed Mouktar.
In attendance were the President of the Ratel Sports Development Foundation and Benue FA Chairman, Barrister Paul Edeh; former Chairman of the Nigeria National League and Vice Chairman of the Ratel Sports Development Foundation, Emmanuel Adesanya; Kogi FA Chairman, Mallam Hassan Wada; and FCT Secretary and Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, Coach Haruna Illerika.
