Ahead of the Nigeria Women's Football League (NWFL) Super Six championship in Bayelsa State, the Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Yusuf Alli, announced that the state government has allocated a significant amount of money as a motivational boost for the entire team.

He urged the entire team to be good ambassadors of the state, emphasizing that everything they need to excel has been provided by the state and that the people of Edo State fully support them.

"I want to congratulate you all on your victory over Kada Queens of Kaduna in the round of 32 of the President's Federation Cup played in Abuja on Wednesday. Scoring 8 goals not only secured the win but also showed that we are on track," Alli said.

"The governor, his wife, and all sports enthusiasts in Edo State are delighted with the results. We are extremely proud of you, and I urge you to maintain that winning mentality as you head to Bayelsa for the Super Six."

Alli also announced that every goal scored and every match won by Edo Queens in this competition would result in a significant financial reward from him.

"This Commission has made every effort to ensure that Edo Queens are highly motivated to excel in the Super Six and future competitions," he added.

"All the teams in this Super Six have played against each other before, and they have all had victories and losses. In football, it's normal to win some matches, draw some, and lose some. We cannot expect to win every match, but we must remain positive, focused, and determined."

"All I ask is for the team to represent Edo State with pride. I wish the entire team success and encourage you to make us proud."
