Island Stars Football Academy has signed Italian coach Emanuele Chiuseli to enhance the backroom staff of the academy in preparation for the 2024/25 season.
This was confirmed by the founder of the academy, Victor Akinmoyo, over the weekend. He stated that the academy has strengthened its backroom staff by employing the experienced Italian coach, who will bring his expertise to the academy's activities.
Akinmoyo said, “I am glad to announce to our parents, guardians, and supporters that we have signed a contract with Italian coach Emanuele Chiuseli as part of our preparations for the new season. Henceforth, he will oversee the academy's activities and liaise with other coaches to bring out the best in our young players."
“Our academy has many engagements this season, both within and outside the country, and I believe Chiuseli will use his wealth of experience to help the academy achieve its set targets throughout his time here,” he added.
Akinmoyo stated that the academy is ready for the new season, noting that it has already established a presence in Kano and is planning to set up a similar academy in Ilorin soon.
“I went to Kano on Sunday to establish Island Stars Football Academy in the state, and I was delighted with the support we received in the northern state. We have also concluded plans to set up the same academy in Ilorin soon, which shows that the academy is growing stronger every year,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the academy, which started operations four years ago, has four centers in Lagos. No fewer than 150 kids from various categories are registered at the academy, with some of them on scholarships courtesy of the Island Stars Football Academy management.
