Victor Elias emerged as the hero for FC Basira, based in Lafia, as his outstanding performance between the posts secured their historic first NNL ticket against Family Worship Center (FWC FC) FC in Jos. The match, held at the New Jos Stadium, witnessed FC Basira drawing first blood in the 64th minute when defender Emmanuel Iliya converted a penalty after the referee spotted an infringement in FWC FC's danger zone.

However, Family Worship Center (FWC) FC quickly responded just four minutes later, as Joseph Oko skillfully guided his shot into the net, leveling the scores and forcing the game into a tense deadlock. With no winner emerging from regular time, the fate of both teams was left to be decided by the nerve-wracking drama of penalty shootouts.

In the high-pressure scenario of penalties, Elias Victor rose to the occasion for FC Basira, making two crucial saves against FWC FC's attempts, while his team only missed one penalty, securing a hard-fought victory with a 4-3 scoreline. Elias Victor's heroics in goal earned him praise and admiration from fans and teammates alike.

The Chairman of the Nasarawa State FA, along with several board members, was present to witness the historic moment and extend his congratulations to the victorious FC Basira team. He commended them for overcoming the challenges and obstacles to achieve this significant milestone, breaking the jinx of failing to progress through the final stages of the qualifications.

"I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to FC Basira for their remarkable achievement in qualifying for the second tier of Nigerian football," stated the Nasarawa State FA Chairman. He expressed pride in their success and assured them of continued support as they strive to reach even greater heights in the future.

For FC Basira, this achievement marks a significant milestone, as they become the first private team from Nasarawa State to compete in the NNL since the dissolution of Aklosendi Int'l FC. Their historic qualification is a testament to their determination, resilience, and dedication to the sport, and they now set their sights on making an impact in the highly competitive NNL.
