Best Talent Football Club of Mowe defeated BFUT 2-0 at Match Day 5 of the ongoing Nationwide League one held at Shagamu Centre. The two goals, jointly scored by the duo of Amoo Dauda and Adeosun Ibrahim, popularly known as Matiti, were all that the Mowe outfit needed to hold forth at the summit of the league in the Ogun State zone.
Other results of the third tier of the Nigerian league played at Ebedei Stadium, Shagamu, saw FC Ebedei edge out Lasegski 1-0, while Dino Sporting battered Olumo United 12-0, and Customs FC lost 1-2 to Juvenile FC.
The Head coach of Best Talent Football Club, Coach Yinka Popoola, popularly known as Gullit, commended his boys for their doggedness and determination in dispatching the stubborn BFUT in the last match of Match Day 5 of the Nationwide league. He expressed optimism that the team will continue to push until the very end to ensure they meet the targets set by the club.
He used the medium to thank the club Chairman, Mr. Adeyinka Adeyemo, for the support he's giving to the team. In his words:
"I wish to sincerely appreciate the Almighty God for His grace over us. He has been the one keeping and sustaining us until this time. My philosophy is that I don't compromise standard, and that is a sign of integrity which will naturally make your players respect you. My boys are doing well sticking to instructions, and the Chairman, Adeyinka Adeyemo, has been very supportive too, giving us everything we need in terms of logistics and financial aid."
Regarding the performance of the referees, he said that the referees are living up to the standard while urging them to continue to uphold the rules of the game.
"I think so far so good, the referees here are doing well, and I hope they will sustain the tempo. Good name is better than gold and silver. They should just maintain the tempo as the whole world is watching the match live through Livestreaming," he concluded.
Match Day 6 continues on Friday as Best Talent plays host to Juvenile FC. Best Talent FC tops the table after Match Day 5 with 13 points and a +21 goal difference, while FC Ebedei and BFUT follow closely with 11 points each and goal differences of +9 and +17, respectively. Juvenile FC is in 4th position with 9 points and a +6 goal difference.
BFUT, Customs, Lasegski, and Olumo United occupy the 5th, 6th, and 7th positions, respectively.
