2024 Gov. Diri Pre season: Kwara United starts on promising note against Krusaders FC

Kwara United Football Club defeated Krusaders Football Academy with a solitary goal during the second match of Group B in the Douye Diri preseason soccer tournament.


Ismail Gata’s decisive goal in the eighty-ninth minute secured the vital three points for the Harmony Boys in a captivating encounter at the Samson Siasia Sports Stadium in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.


Despite Krusaders FC’s resilience and challenge throughout the game, Kwara United’s defensive experience and tactical discipline ultimately led to their much-needed victory.


The Kwara United technical staff made strategic substitutions during both halves to provide opportunities for new players to showcase their abilities on the field.


Following the match, Coach Kabir Dogo expressed confidence in his team’s potential for success in the upcoming NPFL season. He emphasized the continuous efforts of the club’s technical department to develop a strong and competitive team that will garner support from the people of Kwara.

In another game on match day two in Group B, Rivers United played to a 1-1 draw against Bendel Insurance.


The tournament action will resume on Friday with Kwara United facing Bendel Insurance and Rivers United taking on Krusaders FC.
