2024 Emir of Ilorin Cup gets Oct. 19 kick off date

All is now set for the second edition of the Emir of Ilorin Football Championship organized by the Ilorin Emirates Football Council, led by Alhaji Abdulrasaq Owolabi Wopa, who is the Chairman of the Ilorin West Local Football Council.


The competition is an initiative created to celebrate the coronation anniversary of Maimaritaba, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR.


The opening ceremony of this year's competition has been scheduled for October 19 at Queen Elizabeth School in Ilorin.


The draws will be held on the 17th at the Kwara Football Academy (KFA) conference room to determine the two teams that will participate in the opening ceremony.


Teams that have confirmed their participation include Abraysports FC, ABS Ilorin FC, DollyP FA, Dohz FC, Sunrise FA, House of Prayers, JAD, Yinolu FC, Sunshine FC, Araba FC, Kwara United, and Na Royal FC. More teams are still expected to join as registration is still open.


Police Machine emerged as champions of the last edition, defeating Musty FA 1-0 in the final.
