Heartland Queens will face high-scoring NWFL Championship side Delta Babes in a Matchday 2 game of the ongoing 2024 Betsy Obaseki Women’s Football Tournament (BOWFT) in Benin City, Edo State.
The Matchday 2 BOWFT game will take place on the turf of Western Boys High School.
The Owerri ladies had a strong start in the annual preseason showcase, securing an impressive 3-0 victory over NWFL Championship side Fortress Ladies on Monday at Western Boys High School.
Two quick goals in the first half and one at the start of the second half brought the encounter to a joyful end.
Both teams will be meeting each other in all competitions for the very first time in this BOWFT game.
A win for the Owerri team against their Asaba counterparts will secure them a quarterfinal berth, with a game to spare against the visitors from Benin Republic, Aigle Royal d'Adjara, on Thursday.
The other group members' Matchday 1 clash at Western Boys High School ended 4-2 in favor of the Asaba side, Delta Babes, over the Benin Republic team, Aigle Royal FC.
