Former Nigerian champions Enyimba International have continued to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming 2024/25 football season.
The latest signing is 27-year-old striker Wasiu Jimoh, who arrived from Zambian side Forest Rangers.
Jimoh is a veteran of the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) after playing for Shooting Stars, the defunct Ifeanyi Ubah, Plateau United, Rivers United, Sunshine Stars, and Kwara United.
The former junior international has scored 3 goals in Africa’s second-tier club competition, the CAF Confederation Cup, where Enyimba are set to compete from the second qualifying round of the 2024/25 season.
Another addition to the People’s Elephants, as Enyimba is known, is goalkeeper Abubakar Zalii, who joined from Doma United.
Zalii’s arrival might be linked to the departure of Super Eagles’ goalkeeper Leke Ojo, who transferred to Sudanese side Al Merreikh.
However, with the young career of the 21-year-old Zalii, he has a long way to go before stepping into Ojo’s shoes.
After keeping 4 clean sheets in 9 NPFL games for relegated Doma United last season, Zalii could be poised to carve a niche for himself at Enyimba.
