Nigeria's representatives for the 2024/2025 CAF Women's Champions League, the WAFU-B qualifiers, Edo Queens, have recruited 14 players for the play-off.
This information was included in a statement from Edo Queens.
The Edo Queens have been undergoing an intensive one-month training program in Uzairue as part of their preparations for the WAFU-B qualifiers, which are set to be held in Côte d'Ivoire.
"The management and fans of the club believe that with the addition of 14 newly recruited players, who bring quality, experience, and versatility, combined with the impressive performance of the team in recent seasons, it will be a challenging task for opponents to stop Edo Queens from excelling in this competition.
"It is also important to note that Edo Queens have strengthened all areas of the squad and are ready to make a statement at the games.
"The entire team holds high hopes for victory as they prepare to face Omnisports Etincelle FC of Burkina Faso on Sunday, August 11th, Hasaacas Ladies FC of Ghana on Wednesday, August 14th, and AS Garde Nationale of Niger on Saturday, August 17th, 2024.
"All matches for the Zone B WAFU-B qualifiers will be played at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Côte d'Ivoire.
"For the Nigerian representatives, Edo Queens FC, a win in two games will secure them a spot in the final stage of the competition.
"Edo Queens and top management staff are expected to leave Nigeria next week for Côte d'Ivoire for the CAF Women's Champions League WAFU-B play-off."
