Heartland Queens' left full-back, Chisom Henry, has assured that her side will not return home empty-handed from the top-flight battle against former champions, Nasarawa Amazons.
The Owerri Landladies will be guests of the 2024 Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament (BOWFT) champions in Wednesday's NWFL Premiership Matchday 6 crunch clash at the Lafia City Stadium, Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Henry, who acknowledged the increasing difficulty of competing against all participating teams this season, insisted that her team's journey to the Solid Minerals State will end in celebration for the visitors.
"Everyone should expect victory in the crucial game against Nasarawa Amazons.
"Nobody should anticipate an easy match on either side. It will be tough—no two ways about it—but we are determined to come out of the encounter singing praises.
"Confidence among the players is quite high, morale is at an all-time high, and the watchword on everyone's lips is victory.
"We are absolutely ready and prepared for the battle. We have been toughened emotionally, mentally, and physically for this all-important game," said the hard-as-nails defender.
The strong and physically imposing player emphasized that her side is not yet out of the race for the season's top prize—the Super Six ticket.
"I believe we can still make it to the Super Six. That’s my sincerest prayer and wish, despite our current placement on the log," she enthused.
An inspiring result in Wednesday's matchup against Nasarawa Amazons would be a huge boost for the Owerri side as they move forward in other fixtures on the calendar.
