Nasarawa Amazons dominated their zonal rivals, Confluence Queens, on Matchday 11 of the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership.
The match began with an intense pace as Bello scored the opening goal in just 2 minutes with a stunning finish. Akekoromwei Janet followed suit, scoring three goals in quick succession in the 3rd, 5th, and 24th minutes, giving Nasarawa Amazons a 4-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, Mathias Josephine added another goal to the tally, making it 5-0. The Amazons then shifted gears, adopting a more possession-based style and entertaining the fans with their tiki-taka football.
Technical Adviser Christopher Danjuma praised his team’s performance, saying, “We created numerous chances at the beginning of the match and capitalized on them to secure the win. We’re building the team as a whole, and our primary goal is to qualify for the Super Six stage.”
Confluence Queens' Technical Adviser, Coach Sabo Okala, acknowledged Nasarawa Amazons' superiority, stating, “My opponents are the better side. We lacked concentration and communication, which led to most of the goals. They’re a fantastic team, and with more cohesion, I see them going far.”
Nasarawa Amazons will next face Ekiti Queens on Matchday 12 of the NWFL Premiership in Ibadan.
