2024/2025 NWFL Match Day 11: Ibom Angels' Abigail Awak shines with match-winning goal

Ibom Angels FC secured a 2-1 victory over Naija Ratels FC in Matchday 11 of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership.


The match, held at Uyo Township Stadium, saw Naija Ratels FC's Sofiat Bankole open the scoring in the 30th minute, giving her team a lead in the first half.


However, Ibom Angels FC fought back in the second half. A penalty was awarded when Ijeoma Onweagba was fouled in the box, and Chioma Ashiegbu converted it to equalize the score.


The Orange Ladies continued to pressure their opponents, and Abigail Awak sealed the win with a 69th-minute strike from inside the 18-yard box.


This win marks a significant result for Ibom Angels FC, showcasing their determination and skill.


Abigail Awak's winning goal was her second of the season, following her debut goal in Matchday 10.

Ibom Angels FC's next challenge will be against Benue Queens FC in Lafia, scheduled for next Wednesday.
