Nasarawa Amazons FC claimed a convincing 2-0 victory over visiting Abia Angels FC on Matchday 10 of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership.
The Amazons broke the deadlock in the 49th minute when Akekoromowei Janet converted a penalty kick, awarded for a handball in the box. Chima Chisom sealed the win with a well-crafted goal in the 77th minute.
Coach Christopher Danjuma Musa, Technical Adviser of Nasarawa Amazons FC, expressed satisfaction with the team's performance:
"After our 3-0 loss to them in the first round, we knew we had to stay focused. We created chances in the first half but couldn't convert them. Our strategy paid off in the second half, and we got the desired result."
Coach Musa also praised the visiting team:
"Abia Angels FC is a good side, and they gave us a good fight. However, we dominated the game, created chances, and scored the goals that secured the points for us."
Next, Nasarawa Amazons will host Confluence Queens FC of Lokoja on Matchday 11, aiming to continue their winning streak and journey to the Super Six.
