2024/2025 NPFL season: Sunshine Stars Mgt. restates commitment to avoid relegation

The 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season is only a few weeks away from concluding; for Sunshine Stars, it has been a disappointing season due to inconsistent results that have left them struggling in the relegation zone.


However, the club's president, Bamidele Ologunloluwa, has assured that Sunshine Stars will maintain their elite league status, urging supporters both at home and abroad to remain calm and continue supporting the team.


He called for increased support from stakeholders to help Sunshine Stars overcome the current challenges.


"We still have seven matches to play in the league, and with sincerity of purpose, we can still finish the football season above the relegation zone."


According to him, "This is just a challenging time for the team, and as managers, we are not relenting in ensuring the welfare of our players and officials, whose salaries and bonuses are paid on time."


"This is not the time for name-calling or blame games; instead, it is a period when everyone needs to come together to support our heritage, Sunshine Stars, and ensure they do not go down."


On Wednesday in Ijebu-Ode, Sunshine Stars, who were held to a goalless draw by Heartland of Owerri, have accumulated 34 points from 31 matches.
