As the 2024/2025 league leaders, Remo Stars opened up an eight-point gap over the second-place team, Shooting Stars SC of Ibadan. The team's dependable midfielder, Tochukwu Michael, has asserted that the best of the club is yet to come.
Recall that the Sky Blue Stars' exciting midfielder, Tochukwu Michael, featured in the team's 2-1 win over Kano Pillars in a NPFL Match Day 23 encounter at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
The victory saw the Daniel Ogunmodede-led side secure its sixth consecutive victory for the first time this season, moving eight points (48 points) clear of second-placed Shooting Stars at the top of the log.
Tochukwu, who had an impact with his numerous contributions in helping the side secure the victory, extended their lead at the top following the 2-1 win against Pillars in Ikenne.
The former Nasarawa United, Plateau United, and Sporting Lagos midfielder praised the team's performance, saying there is more to come before the end of the season.
"Yes, I'm happy with the result because we clearly deserved the three points. It was a solid team performance, and we were clinical in finishing the chances we got in the game."
"However, we know that we have to keep believing and working hard to achieve our main goal, which is to win the title by the end of the season."
The midfielder also stated that the team was very confident of getting a positive result in Enugu this weekend against Rangers Int'l in a Matchday 24 encounter.
"Of course, it is going to be a difficult game against a good Rangers Int'l team, because they're the defending champions, but I believe we have what it takes to secure a positive result in Enugu on Sunday," Tochukwu said.
