Posted : 14 January 2025

Nasarawa Utd has been charged with breaching the NPFL Framework & Rules during their Matchday 18 fixture against Rivers Utd on December 22, 2024.

The Lafia club violated NPFL rules due to encroachment onto the field of play during the match.

Nasarawa Utd also failed to ensure proper conduct from their team and supporters, which led to the assault on the away team.

The club's supporters also assaulted one of the match officials, center referee Musibaudeen Ibrahim.

Nasarawa Utd will pay a fine of N3 million, with N1 million each for the encroachment onto the pitch, failure to ensure proper conduct of their team and supporters, and failure to provide adequate and effective security.

Three points and three goals will be deducted from Nasarawa Utd’s accrued points and goals for the assault on center referee Musibaudeen Ibrahim.

Nasarawa Utd has been ordered to identify and prosecute the individuals involved in assaulting the away team, with details of their progress to be submitted to the NPFL within 7 working days of this notice.

The Lafia City Stadium will be closed indefinitely to fans until security is enhanced and the state box is barricaded, with the club directed to provide feedback on compliance to the NPFL security department.

Nasarawa Utd has 48 hours from the date of this notice to appeal these sanctions.
