2024/2025 NPFL season: Katsina United management gets suspension after heavy defeat to Ikorodu City

The Katsina State government has sacked the management of Katsina United following their heavy defeat to Ikorodu City FC.


Katsina United suffered a 6-0 drubbing at the hands of the Oga Boys in a rescheduled NPFL encounter held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.


A statement from the club reads: "The Katsina State government has relieved the substantive management of Katsina United FC of their duties following the six-goal defeat against Ikorodu City FC on Matchday 31 of the ongoing league.


"Those relieved of their duties are as follows: Gaddafi Muammar Rudwan, Abbas Tukur, Abdullahi Umar Leda Danja, Yasir Yahayya, and Abubakar Adidas.


"The suspension takes effect immediately, and they are advised to hand over the affairs of the club to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Sports and a team of two other personnel appointed by the Commissioner of Youths and Sports, who will supervise the conduct of the state's darling team, Katsina United FC, until further directives."
