2024/2025 NPFL Season: "I’m Returning to Familiar Terrain," Says Eguma

The newly appointed Technical Adviser of Enyimba International FC, Stanley Eguma, has unveiled his mission for his new club.

 

In an interview, Eguma expressed that he was returning to a “familiar terrain.”

 

Eguma was appointed as the new coach of the People’s Elephant following the sacking of Yemi Olanrewaju on Saturday due to the team's poor form.

 

The 62-year-old had previously worked as an assistant coach at Enyimba years ago and returned as the new head coach on Saturday.

 

Before joining Enyimba, Eguma won titles with Dolphins and Rivers United.

 

“Don’t forget I’ve been here before, back in 2004, when we won the CAF Champions League title,” he said after his unveiling. “So I can conveniently say that I’m returning to a familiar terrain.”

 

Eguma will take charge of his first game when Enyimba hosts Bendel Insurance in Aba on Tuesday, the last day of 2024.

 

Eguma is eager to return the team to winning ways after a winless run in their last nine games across all competitions.
