2024/2025 NPFL season: Abia Warriors' striker, Desouza, scoops NPFL 2024/25 February award

Free-scoring Abia Warriors striker, Antoine Desouza Ijoma, has emerged as the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Player of the Month for February.


The Togolese-Nigerian scored 3 goals in 4 games during the month under review to claim the accolade.


Desouza is the Warriors' second-highest goal scorer with 7 strikes, just 1 behind Sunday Megwo.


To win the February award, he beat other players nominated for the prize.


The nominations included Rangers' Kingsley Maduforo, Remo striker Sikiru Alimi, Bello Lukman of Katsina United, Kayode Oke of Bendel Insurance, and Rivers United's winger Ubong Friday.


In the managers' category, Bendel Insurance's enterprising gaffer, George Ikhenoba, emerged as the winner after steering his club to 4 wins and 1 draw in 6 matches played in February.


Insurance garnered 13 out of a possible 18 points in the month under consideration.


Incidentally, Insurance will visit Abia Warriors on Sunday, 16 March 2025, as the NPFL reaches Matchday 29 across designated centers this week.
