2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 9: Stubborn El-Kanemi Warriors hold Rivers United FC in Port Harcourt

The 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 9 clash between the two unbeaten sides, Rivers United FC and El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri, ended in a stalemate.


Recall that both teams have remained unbeaten since the start of the season, with Rivers United FC staying on top of the NPFL table.


The Match Day 9 encounter at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium lived up to expectations as both sides refused to let their guard down.


The visitors struck first in the 30th minute, with Samaila Bello scoring from a well-timed finish.


Rivers United responded quickly three minutes later, as Taofeek Otaniyi leveled the score with a connected pass.


Both teams were unable to score again, and the game ended 1-1 at full time.


Rivers United remains at the top of the NPFL table with 21 points, having six wins and three draws, while El-Kanemi is 13th with two wins and seven draws.
