2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 9: Kano Pillars' pointman, Ali, targets maximum points in Lafia

Posted : 26 October 2024

It will certainly be a fight to the finish between two Northern rivals, with Nasarawa United at home and Kano Pillars traveling to Lafia for the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 9 fixture.

The game will feature a clash between the strikers of both teams, testing who can score the most goals, as both sides have been prolific in their recent matches.

For the Solid Miners, Anas Yusuf has been on fire, scoring prolifically, while on the opposition, 44-year-old Rabiu Ali, with eight goals so far this season, is supported by another goal machine, Ahmed Musa, who has been in top form since rejoining the North West side.

However, the former Kano Pillars captain, Rabiu Ali, has declared that the upcoming match between both teams is a must-win for his side.

In an interview ahead of the highly anticipated encounter, Ali expressed the team’s determination to secure victory in Sunday’s fixture in Lafia.

The match will take place at the Lafia City Stadium.

Ali shared that the players aim to replicate their impressive recent away win in Enugu.

“We have the full squad available, and the team is motivated to continue from where we left off in Enugu,” Ali told Completesports.

“We have Abdullahi Shehu with us against Nasarawa United. Ahmed Musa and other players are also ready, and we want to try to replicate what we achieved against Rangers in Enugu in our match against Nasarawa United in Lafia.”

Ali has scored two goals in the NPFL this season.

Kano Pillars currently sit in sixth position on the league table with 11 points, while Nasarawa United occupies 13th position with 9 points.
