Enyimba International FC demonstrated superiority and grit on Sunday with a 2-1 victory over visiting Ikorodu City FC.
Prior to the 2024/2025 Match Day 9 fixture against the People’s Elephant, the Oga Boys had been unbeaten in their last three games.
In the NPFL Match Day 9 game played at the Enyimba International FC Stadium in Aba, the hosts secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory against a side determined to take something from the game.
Ifeanyi Ihemekwele gave the nine-time champions, Enyimba, an early lead after being set up by the mercurial midfielder Chukwudi Nwaodu in the 6th minute.
The early goal was Ihemekwele's third of the season.
With one minute left in regulation time, Ajeyigbe Toyeeb converted a cross from Chineme Chinonso to bring the Oga Boys level in the 89th minute.
Just as the game was about to end, Moses Adiukwu secured victory for the People’s Elephant with a quick response in the seventh minute of extra time, sealing the final score at 2-1.
