2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 8: Remo Stars pip Bendel Insurance 1-0

Ghanaian import Dela Akorli scored the only goal for Remo Stars on Sunday, securing a maximum three points that took the team back to the top of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 8 standings.


The Sky Blue Stars ground out a 1-0 victory over Bendel Insurance in a match played at Remo Stars International FC Stadium in Ikenne.


The Daniel Ogunmodede-tutored side now has 18 points from eight matches, while Rivers United, with 17 points, will face Niger Tornadoes away on Monday.


Remo Stars took the lead in the 43rd minute through Ghanaian forward Dela Akorli.


This proved to be the only goal of a keenly contested match.


Sunshine Stars climbed to fourth in the table following a 1-0 home win over Nasarawa United, with Opeoluwa Olufemi scoring the decisive goal in the 17th minute.
