As Matchday 8 of the Nigeria Premier Football League encounter between Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia and Plateau United Football Club of Jos approaches, the Warriors say they are looking forward to redeeming their battered image with a strong performance.
Abia Warriors center back Collins Nwoburuoke, in an interview ahead of the clash with the Peace Boys, promised that the team would be firing on all cylinders.
Umu Chineke lost 3-0 to Nasarawa United in Lafia in a midweek fixture, a result that shocked the teeming fans and supporters of the club. Nwoburuoke assured them of victory in the next league game.
"First of all, I would like to say it wasn't the result we were expecting because we gave our all in that game. It's football, and I’m telling Abia Warriors fans that in our next game, we are going to do better.
"I assure them that in our next game, we will earn the points back.
"They should believe in us; they should trust us," he said.
The Ikwerre-born defender also stated that the mood in the camp is quite positive.
"I spoke to some of the players, and everybody is in high spirits because we have to get the job done in our next game..."
