With some rays of hope to defend the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title, the defending champions, Rangers International FC of Enugu, will lay ambush for the visiting Kano Pillars FC on Wednesday.
The Flying Antelopes are expected to face off against Sai Masu Gida at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, “The Cathedral,” in Enugu for the mid-week NPFL Match Day 7 fixtures.
The Fidelis Ilechukwu-tutored side returned home empty-handed after their 0-1 loss to Sunshine Stars of Akure at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode during the NPFL Match Day 6 fixtures.
However, Ilechukwu believes that his side will pick up the pieces and perform well in the next match against Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa-led Kano Pillars.
Ilechukwu is confident that his team has what it takes to elevate their game to the next level.
"We have moved on from the defeat against Sunshine Stars, and we are looking forward to the important game ahead against Kano Pillars.
"No team is less fancied, especially when we consider Kano Pillars' position on the league table," he said.
On the other hand, the Sai Masu Gida will hope to shake off their lethargic display during the last league match against Rivers United, where they lost 0-2, and return to winning ways.
