El-Kanemi Warriors put on a superlative performance in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 7, playing to a 2-2 draw at Lafia Township Stadium, the adopted home of Lobi Stars FC.
The Desert Warriors have yet to lose a match this season, despite the team just returning to the elite league, and they are quickly becoming known as draw specialists after holding Lobi Stars to a stalemate.
El-Kanemi Warriors FC, who are playing without their head coach Zubair Aliyu, currently on national duty with the national U-20 team, came back from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw and maintain their unbeaten record in the league.
Daniel Amokachi, leading Lobi Stars in his second match and first home game, shot into a two-goal lead through Osy Martins in the 17th and 53rd minutes, aiming for his first victory as manager of the Alia Boys.
However, El-Kanemi had a different plan. Ibrahim Mustapha, also known as Yuga, reduced the deficit in the 57th minute before Mukhtar Mohammed equalized in the 86th minute, securing another point on the road for the side.
El-Kanemi Warriors now have five draws and one victory in the six matches played in the league so far this season, while pressure is gradually mounting on Daniel Amokachi's Lobi Stars, who have yet to win any match in their last five league games.
The results place Lobi Stars in 17th position with just six points from seven matches, while El-Kanemi Warriors sit in 9th position with eight points from six matches.
