2024/2025 NPFL match Day 6: Bayelsa United coach, Bosso positive ahead of Plateau United's clash

Bayelsa United will face Plateau United on Sunday at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa for the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 6 fixtures.


The Prosperity Boys aim to secure their first victory in the ongoing NPFL campaign, having earned a point last weekend against Nasarawa United at the Lafia Township Stadium.


Bayelsa United is currently 18th on the log after five games, with two losses and three draws, while visitors Plateau United hold 5th place with eight points from the same number of games.


Last season, the Jos-based side suffered a 3-2 defeat to Bayelsa United, with goals from Wisdom Magbisa, Tekena Garando, and John Bassey in the 41st, 43rd, and 59th minutes respectively, ensuring Plateau United returned home empty-handed.


However, on December 17th, 2023, at the new Jos Stadium, Plateau United defeated Bayelsa United 5-1, thanks to a hat-trick by Albert Hilary, along with goals from Silas Nenrot and Izuchukwu Chimezie, while Ekeson Okorie scored the consolation goal for Bayelsa United.


Bayelsa United's Technical Adviser, Ladan Bosso, stated that the team has been gradually improving after the first five games. He urged fans to expect better performances as the team progresses, assuring them that the current struggles are temporary.


He also called for patience from the fans, emphasizing that positive results will come as the league advances, and expressed his concern over the team's recent outcomes.
