It will be the first official meeting for the duo of Nasarawa United FC and Ikorodu City FC in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the Match Day 4 fixtures at the Lafia City Stadium.
The winless Oga Boys, after a disappointing loss in their first home game of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League season against Rangers, will travel to meet another elite league returnee, the Solid Miners.

In the last Match Day 3, the defending champions used their experience to defeat the young squad of Ikorodu City FC. However, the latter has been quite industrious, and from the looks of things, through the chances created against Rangers International, they might be getting the hang of it sooner rather than later as they face Nasarawa United in a consecutive home game for Match Day 4 of the NPFL 2024/25 season.
A number of players haven’t kicked a ball yet this season, with some only tasting action from the bench in the Ikorodu City FC squad.
However, with the action coming thick and fast, Coach Bright might have to tweak the squad a little more to find the scoring formula, and he has a healthy squad to do that with.
The only possible absentee is striker Chilaka ThankGod, who was ill during the week and didn’t train much.
Ikorodu Boys are gradually realizing how much is required in the top flight. With one point from three games, they are at the bottom of the league. The lessons are enormous, but the chance to correct them still exists, starting with a good result against Nasarawa United.
Though returning from relegation, Nasarawa United is a popular figure in the NPFL.
While Ikorodu City FC has struggled in terms of scoring goals, they seem to have covered that, scoring three goals in their previous game against El Kanemi Warriors at home, all from their striker and captain, Anas Yusuf, although they ended up losing the game.
Like Ikorodu City, Nasarawa United is currently without a win this season, with two draws and one defeat to their name, leaving them just one point ahead.
Head to Head
This is the first-ever official meeting between Nasarawa United and Ikorodu City FC, and whatever happens in this game will be the start of their story.
It’s a clean slate and a chance for both teams and players to write the beginning of this history as they wish.
The match kicks off at 3:00 PM at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
