2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 4: Sunshine Stars snatch vital win in Uyo

Sunshine Stars of Akure ensured a convincing 2-1 win over the homers, Akwa United FC, on Saturday in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 4.


The Match Day 4 fixture was played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.


This was the second fixture of Match Day 4 on Saturday, which also recorded an away win as Sunshine schooled Akwa United 2-1 in Uyo, jumping four places into second with 7 points.


Coach Kennedy Boboye’s lads were cruising at 2-0 in the game, courtesy of strikes from Chinedu Nwosu and Seth Mayi in the 19th and 81st minutes, respectively, before Wisdom Ndon reduced the deficit two minutes later, making the scoreline a respectable one.


Eight matches are slated for tomorrow, September 29, in continuation of round 4 ties.


In selected fixtures, table toppers Remo Stars will host reigning champions Rangers International in Ikenne, while a potentially explosive clash between third-placed Rivers United and fifth-placed Enyimba International will take place in Port Harcourt.
