2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 4: El-Kanemi survives Plateau United scare

El-Kanemi Warriors returned to their base in Maiduguri on Sunday with what was almost a shocker, as the visitors, Plateau United, went two goals up before the home team rallied back to equalize.


Playing in front of their home fans for the first time, Match Day 4 almost ended in defeat for the Desert Warriors, as Sadiq Adamu delivered a cross that allowed Victor Dawa to tap in for the first goal in the 11th minute.


In the 30th minute of play, Dawa, Anthony, and Isah put up a strong fight in the battle for control for the Desert Warriors.


Saka Gafar added a second goal for the Peace Boys in the 55th minute, putting more pressure on the hosts.


However, the Desert Warriors pulled one back through Mustapha Yuga, who converted a penalty kick in the 75th minute.


El-Kanemi leveled the score through Bello, ending the match in a draw.
