After setting a season-high record in a six-goal demolition of the visiting Katsina United FC on Thursday, league debutant Ikorodu City FC will once again seek to dominate another northern opposition, Niger Tornadoes, for the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 33.
It has been a sweet story for the Oga Boys since the assumption of office by the incumbent coach, Nuruden Aweroro, who has been able to turn the season of the Eko Boys around.
Ikorodu City thrashed Katsina United 6-0 in their last match and will look to build on that performance when they host Niger Tornadoes at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.
The visitors are battling multiple absentees, including Papa Daniel, Ifeanyi Okechukwu, Victor Okoro, and Joseph Godstime, while Rickson Mendos and Sabiu Ibrahim are away on national duty with the Flying Eagles.
Ikorodu are currently the top-scoring team in the league with 48 goals, and Sunday’s game provides another opportunity to add to that tally.
With momentum on their side, the Lagos-based team are favorites.
This is the second meeting between the two sides.
