2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 32: Abdallah returns to dugout as Heartland International FC comes to town

It will be a battle of sorts between Kano Pillars FC and Heartland International FC of Owerri as both clubs clash in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 32.


It will be an emotional return and reunion for Kano Pillars' Technical Adviser, Usman Abdallah, who was suspended for about three months but was reinstated during the week.


Also, Sai Masu Gida will have to put behind the mid-week disappointment in which they lost the 2025 President Federation Cup tie against bitter rivals Rangers International FC, who beat them by a lone goal with assistant coach Yaro Yaro in charge.


Upon his reinstatement, Abdallah promised to refocus the club for better performance.


The club, on its X handle, said: "All issues have now been resolved. Technical Adviser Usman Abdallah has returned after the misunderstanding with the fans and will lead the team for the remainder of the season. Welcome back, gaffer,” the club announced via X.


He was suspended for an initial three weeks, and the club cited his gesture toward the fans after their goalless draw against Bayelsa United on February 2.


“There were a lot of misunderstandings, and we had several meetings with the management and the fans. There are players who have improved, and he is in a position to understand their roles. I trained with the team on Tuesday and chipped in some things while observing. We have to make sure we do well again, and the target remains the same. The most important thing is the team,” Abdallah said.


The four-time NPFL winners are now eighth in the league with 44 points after 31 matches.
