For Niger Tornadoes, it was one of the away wins of the season as they beat their host Kwara United FC in Ilorin 3-1. Plateau United Technical Adviser Mbwas Mangut, ahead of the match, reiterated the team’s desire to secure a continental ticket in the 2024/25 season.
The Peace Boys missed out on a place in continental competition last season, finishing fifth in the 2023/24 season.
Mangut stated that his team will work hard to achieve this target.
“Every team in the league is also pushing for a continental ticket, but for now, it’s too early to say you will get it,” Mangut said.
“Our dream is to work towards it, and last season, we lost out in the final two games, with Shooting Stars being one of the teams that stopped us.
“We are going to work and remain focused to see if we can get there.”
