It was a sweet game for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) debutant, Ikorodu City FC, as they were able to pick up one point on the road against misfiring Kwara United FC.
The Oga Boys battled the Harmony Boys to a standstill, as both clubs failed to find the back of the net in the fiery 2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 3 encounter played in front of vociferous Kwara fans at Ilorin Township Stadium.
The league debutant had opened their account in the elite league with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of three-time winners Kano Pillars.
However, the Oga Boys were able to find a reprieve after a long week of rest due to Rangers International FC's commitments on the continent for their Match Day 3.
The coach of Ikorodu City, Bright Ozebagbe, has now gained what could be a lifeline in Ilorin.
Ikorodu City have yet to play any home matches in Lagos.
The coach said that the team was thankful.
"We needed that after a long trip to Katsina. We rested well and now we had enough time to practice and improve where we needed to.
Starting a debut top-flight season with two away games has helped alleviate the expectations, stress, and anxiety of a debut season from the boys. The boys are ready; they are relaxed. There are no injury worries, and they are all motivated in Ilorin."
