Plateau United FC on Sunday got what they did not bargain for in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 3, as both Papa Daniel and Ufere scored to give Niger Tornadoes a well-deserved win at the Jos Township Stadium.
In a match full of drama, Daniel opened the scoring for the Ikon Allah Boys in the 19th minute with a fine finish.
However, things were at a standstill for the rest of the half, as both clubs battled to outsmart each other.
Plateau United almost found the back of the net in the 30th minute when Anthony’s header from Doyeni’s cross was well-blocked by the defensive alertness of Enaholo.
The visitors, Ikon Allah Boys, after many missed chances, were lucky once again in the four minutes of added time (94th minute) as Ufere delivered the decisive goal that left the Peace Boys stunned.
One minute later, in the 95th minute, the Peace Boys got a consolation goal as Sam Pam drove inside the 18-yard box and fired his shot into the back of the net.
The match ended 2-1 in favor of the visiting Niger Tornadoes.
