2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 29: Rangers International in high spirit as Kwara United FC comes knocking

The Head Coach of Rangers International FC of Enugu, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has claimed that the team is in high spirits ahead of the important 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 29 against Kwara United FC.


The NPFL Match Day 29, to be played at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, popularly known as the "Cathedral," is crucial for the Flying Antelopes, as their hopes of successfully defending their title are nearly over. The current league leaders, Remo Stars, have opened an unassailable 12-point gap, with the team on 54 points, while Rangers International FC is on 42 points.


Recall that Fidelis Ilechukwu's team played a grueling 1-1 draw against the visiting Akwa United FC in the 2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 28.


Speaking ahead of the match against the Afonja Warriors, Ilechukwu claimed that his lads would be ready for the match.


"We just had a little setback, but I trust that we will bounce back against Kwara United."


Recall that the defending champions had returned a 1-1 draw against the Harmony Boys of Ilorin in the first encounter of the season, exactly on 2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 8 at Ilorin Township Stadium on Oct. 28, 2024.


However, knowing the importance of the match against Rangers International FC, Kwara United FC is leaving no stone unturned. They played a friendly match against a Nationwide League One side, Gaa Akanbi FC, a game that ended in a win for them.


Coach Tunde Sanni remains confident that his team can return the favor in Enugu, adding that if the defending champions could come to Ilorin to claim a point, nothing would stop his side from returning the same fate.


"For them to get a draw here in Ilorin, nothing stops us from securing a good result at The Cathedral," he stated.
