2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 29: Panic-striken Lobi Stars FC travels to Bayelsa United's den

Obviously infuriated by the circumstances surrounding the club, Lobi Stars FC management, in panic mode, imposed a pay cut on the players and technical crew ahead of the crucial 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 29 encounter at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa, against Bayelsa United FC.


For the Alia Boys, it is time to change the narrative after being dragged into the murky relegation waters, currently occupying the last spot, 20th position in the league.


Lobi Stars FC have had the worst record this season, with a meager five wins in 28 matches and only 23 points.


Now, the team, under newly appointed coach Tolu Bolus, who has been tasked with salvaging what remains of the season, has been placed on a pay cut.


Lobi Stars will also face a coach who knows that his time in the dugout of Bayelsa United is almost up after a series of unpleasant results.


The Benue State Commissioner for Youth, Sports, and Creativity, Rt. Hon. Terkimbi Ikyange, had also issued a stern warning during the unveiling of Tolu Bolus as the team's new head coach.


Ikyange reminded the players that beyond football, their livelihoods were at stake, saying, "Only those who deliver on the pitch will get paid going forward."


Bolus was introduced to replace Muhammed Baba Ganaru, who exited after three winless matches.

Since 2023, Bayelsa United FC and Lobi Stars have faced each other in a total of five matches, with Bayelsa United winning once and one match ending in a draw.
