Akwa United Assistant Coach, Ifeanyi Nwachukwu, has assured fans of the club that the team will escape relegation at the end of the 2024/2025 NPFL season.
The Promise Keepers defeated Shooting Stars 2-0 in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 29 encounter to keep their survival hopes alive.
In a post-match reaction, the former SKE FC of Port Harcourt head coach believes that their upcoming away game against Kwara United is a must-win.
His words: "There are smiles on the faces of everybody. The boys are trying, and in every game, there is improvement. We also believe that there is hope for us to escape relegation if we continue like this."
"We are very optimistic about escaping relegation. We are hopeful that we will get something in Ilorin. We have resolved not to drop any points again, both home and away."
"We can't win only home matches. We must go away and get results to move out of the relegation zone."
Akwa United are placed 19th with 31 points after 29 games and will face Kwara United in a Match Day 30 encounter.
