With high ambition, Shooting Stars SC of Ibadan will now take their chase for the league title—or at least a respectable second-place finish—to Katsina, where they will face the Changi Boys.
The first match of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 28 is set to take place at Umar Dikko Stadium in Katsina.
Recall that the Oluyole Warriors lost control of second place on Matchday 27 after a 0-0 draw against the visiting Rivers United FC in Ibadan.
Now, Gbenga Ogunbote’s lads will have to travel to Katsina to reclaim second place from the current holders, Rivers United FC, who are level on points with them but have a superior goal difference.
For Katsina United, the game against Shooting Stars SC carries little significance, as it will have minimal impact on their standing in the NPFL table.
The Changi Boys currently sit in 15th place with 33 points after 27 matches, having recorded 9 wins, 6 draws, and 12 losses.
