In spite of losing its traditional home ground, Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna, due to a bad pitch and having to settle for a new venue for their home games at Lafia Township Stadium for the continuation of their campaign in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Niger Tornadoes' Technical Adviser, Mohammed Majin, has tipped his side for victory against an unimpressive Enyimba International FC.
Recall that the board of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has banned Niger Tornadoes from hosting matches at Bako Kontagora Stadium.
The Ikon Allah Boys have been directed to choose an alternative venue for their next home match from the approved NPFL grounds, with Lafia Township Stadium being selected and approved for use.
The ban was due to the poor condition of the Bako Kontagora Stadium pitch, which fails to meet club licensing requirements.
The Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna, which the club had also considered as an alternative home ground, requires significant pitch maintenance. As a result, the club was directed to select another venue from the approved NPFL stadiums, ultimately settling on Lafia Township Stadium.
Meanwhile, looking ahead to the crucial clash against the nine-time league champions, Enyimba International FC, Majin urged his players to maintain their momentum.
Majin emphasized the importance of securing a win against Enyimba, building on the team's recent success with back-to-back victories against Heartland and Lobi Stars.
During a training session, Majin praised his players' resilience and effort while cautioning them against complacency.
"We must not let our confidence wane." Majin also expressed confidence in his team's ability to perform well away from home, citing their impressive away record this season, with 14 points earned on the road.
"We will show Enyimba that every venue is our home," he declared.
Reverse Fixture
In the reverse fixture, the Ikon Allah Boys secured a hard-fought 1-1 draw in Aba.
Chinedu Ufere's equalizer canceled out Joseph Godstime's opener, ensuring the points were shared.
